Cupid Is Not Dead! | Happy Valentine's Day!
We at Gateway to Canada do not believe the rumor circulating in the Internet about Cupid's death.
This picture of Cupid has been circulating in Facebook for quite a time now but as of this writing, authorities can't confirm his death. According to some experts, this image was photoshopped just like in the case Charice and Jinkee Pacquiao.
If Cupid is not dead, this is good news for those planning to apply for permanent residence in Canada under the Federal Skilled Workers program.
The current selection criteria gives additional points for your spouse's education under the adaptabilty factor using the points system.
If you are looking for a spouse to get additional points, you still have a chance. Cupid is not dead!
Kidding. Of course, you should marry for the right reason. The following are few of the right reasons to get married:
- You are in love with one another.
- A desire to share your life with another.
- To have a lifetime companion.
- Willingness to help one another fulfill their own needs and dreams.
You see, we're not just immigration experts. We also deal with matters of the heart. And if you're thinking of a Valentine's day gift for your family, buying the right insurance for you and your family may be a good idea. :-)
Happy Valentine's day!

Guaranteed Canadian Visa Application Approval | Find out how!
There are so many things going on in Canada right now that will directly affect Canada's Immigration Program.
First, there's the May 2011 Canadian Election. If the Liberals win, chances are they will amend the current regulations.
Then a new body, ICRCC, is expected to oversee immigration consultants. Hoping this new body will not be as controversial like the CSIC.
On or before July 1, 2011, assuming the conservatives managed to win the election, a new Ministerial Instruction will be issued. We will then know the new list of priority occupations.
Now, if you will not pay attention to these changes, your dream to live and work in Canada may just be that - a dream. Citizenship and Immigration Canada said there is no such thing as guaranteed visa approval. But that is of course not true. How do you think is it possible that there are many immigrants in Canada who can't communicate in English if IELTS is really mandatory?

2011 is the year of the rabbit | What's in it for you?
According to Chinese Horoscope, 2011 is the year of the rabbit. They say the year of the rabbit is a peaceful year, as rabbit is traditionally associated with peace. How do you think will this affect Canada's immigration program?
According to a very reliable feng shui expert, Canada's immigration program will be more flexible, faster and transparent. There will no more visa refusals because the visa officer is not convinced you will return after your authorized stay.
But you know I'm kidding, right? :-)
Happy new year, everyone!

2010 Merry Christmas!
Today is Sept 1, 2010, the start of the 'BER' months. It means the start of Christmas season here in the Philippines! So let me be the first to greet you a Merry, merry Christmas! That's a major, major greetings from Gateway to Canada! :-)
And for those planning to file an application under Federal Skilled Worker program whose occupations are included in the list of 29 High Demand Occupations, September has another important meaning.
The Ministerial Instruction issued on June 26, 2010 stated that Citizenship and Immigration Canada will only accept 20,000 application for the next 12 months - until June 25, 2011. A maximum of 1,000 applications per occupation was also set as a cap. They will stop accepting applications once the quota is reached.
It is now September, 1 2010! More than two months have passed and we're now on the 3rd month since the Ministerial Instruction. Ever wonder how many applications were already accepted by the Centralized Intake Office?
If you are still interested file an application under Federal Skilled Worker program, you must file your application NOW! You may only have 3-4 months window of opportunity before the program closes. Decide now while situation still favors you.
File an application NOW and have a White Christmas everyday, not just during the ber months. ;-)

Happy Mother's Day!
“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” - Washington Irving
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there!

Merry Christmas!
Today is September 1, 2009, the start of the "ber" months. In the Philippines, it means the start of the Christmas season.
Christmas is, well, a gift-giving season and this early people are now thinking of what gifts to buy for their loved ones. In fact, I have a friend who started buying stuff as early as July, in preparation for Christmas season (Hi Chippy!).
What about you? What do you plan to buy this Christmas?
How about a White Christmas?
If you are eligible to apply under the new Federal Skilled Worker program, filing your application could be the best gift you could give your family. Instead of buying yourself a P25,000 cellphone or other appliances, why not invest your money in a program that may give you and your family a better quality of life?
Live and Work in Canada and enjoy White Christmas every day! Fill up the Free Online Assessment form now!
