BC Private Training Act benefits students, public and institutions

The Private Training Act is a new regulation by the British Columbia government that was brought into force effective September 1, 2016.  This BC Private Training Act will benefit students, public and institutions.

This post is about how it will benefit the students.
Private Training Act defines Cooperative Placement (Co-op) as a type of work experience component that is not more than 50% of the hours of instructions of an approved program of institutions and for which a student is paid.

Why is this good news?  It's because prior to this, students undergoing Co-op is not required to be paid.  Now, it is mandatory!
