Stephen Harper and Canada Immigration Program


Based on Canada election results, Stephen Harper will still remain as Canada's Prime Minister.

So how will Harper reelection affect Canada's immigration program?

Unless the Liberals and other opposition parties unite to repeal the amended immigration regulations, nothing will now stop the Immigration Minister to implement the new rules. The amended immigration regulations give the Immigration Minister to decide which occupations shall be prioritized. It was reported that the priority list will be cut down to 38 occupations that are really needed in Canada. The official list of this 38 occupations is yet to be released. The list is expected to be disclosed before the end of this year.
