IMPORTANT

1. Spouse's Open Work Permit Extension Eligibility
Your spouse's OWP may be submitted together with your PGWP application if you are currently employed or will be employed in any occupation categorized under TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Your employment reference letter must include the following information:
  • Date started
  • Temporary or Permanent (if temporary, must include end date of employment or attach employment contract with information about the period of employment.)
  • Part-time or Full-time (You don't need to be a full-time worker to be eligible but it will be subject to IRCC's evaluation and discretion. If part-time, it should be at least 20 hours per week)
  • Salary/Wage
  • Position and NOC
  • Job Description
2. If your Spouse's OWP extension application will not be submitted together with your PGWP application, his application may be filed only when you received your PGWP approval. Processing may take around 3-5 months. If you want to get your PGWP immediately, you may want to get your PGWP at the border (flagpoling).
