NEW Program: Health Care Administration Management - Fanshawe College

The Health Care Administration Management program is a 2-Year Graduate Certificate business program ideal for International Students with Nursing or Healthcare background. This is a new program to be offered by Fanshawe College starting May 2020 intake.

Program Overview
The Health Care Administration Management program is a business program that will provide students with previous education/experience in health care with business and leadership fundamentals.

It is designed as a four-semester program for international college or university graduates from the health care field or from other disciplines.

The program provides the skills necessary to work within the Canadian health care system. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics in business through the lens of health care.

You will develop skills in the areas of finance, human resources, operations, management, leadership, research and reporting, and strategic thinking. You will study privacy, ethics, communications and patient care concerns as they relate to the Canadian health care system.

Career Opportunities
Graduates of this program will be prepared to become team members and managers in a variety of settings in the health care field, including hospitals, clinics, physician practices, public health organizations, universities, clinical and research institutions.

Pathway to being a Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse
This program will not directly help you become a Registered Nurse or License Practical Nurse. It will not be considered in the assessment. However, studying this program will help you with the following:
  • While studying, you can have your nursing assessment application processed concurrently
  • While studying, you are allowed to work part-time up to 20 hours per week and full time during school breaks
  • You may bring your Spouse with an Open Work Permit
  • You may bring your kids and they may study for FREE until Grade 12
  • This program includes a Co-op component!
  • This program may entitle you to a up to 3 years Post Graduate Work Permit
  • After completing your program, you may then complete the competency gaps, if any, or write the NCLEX-RN.
