Under the current immigration regulations, there are no restricted occupations. But before the new Immigration and Refugee Protection Act came into effect on June 2002, teachers were included in the restricted occupations, which are considered ineligible to apply under the skilled worker program. Immigration regulations change and the longer you delay your decision to apply, the more you are risking your eligibility.
And now, with the proposed amendment to modernize the immigration system, there are speculations that some occupations may be restricted again.
